Upcoming Gift of Life Drives

The Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation has been instrumental in the search for Amy’s donor. Over a hundred donor recruitment campaigns have been run by Gift of Life on Amy’s behalf in Jewish communities throughout the United States, Canada and Israel. Gift of Life is an internationally recognized organization working to increase the representation of Jewish donors in the worldwide database and has generously underwritten the cost of tissue typing the thousands of potential donors who have been tested to see if they are a match for Amy.

Since genetic background is a factor in the determination of who will match a person in need, it makes sense that a Jewish donor could be more likely to be able to help Amy, who is also Jewish. It is also possible that Amy's match could be found among the general population. In either case, Amy's Army is interested in promoting marrow testing drives by everyone because this will surely help the most people.
